Listings

Listings

Listings is the screen where you work on the words that sell your products. It shows your Shopify catalogue, lets you open any product, and gives you the AI tools to improve that product's copy. When you are happy with the result, Save to Shopify writes it back to the Shopify product.

It is worth being blunt about what that means, because the screen's name invites the wrong assumption. Everything on this page is about your own Shopify content. The AI reads your Shopify product, rewrites your Shopify product, and saves to your Shopify product. Nothing on this page is sent to Amazon, and nothing here creates, edits or publishes an Amazon listing.

Note

Amazon Seller Sync does not currently publish products to Amazon. Data still flows the other way: Amazon prices and Buy Box status are read into Shopify for the variants you have mapped. See Product Mapping and Price sync.

Browsing your products

The page opens on your Shopify catalogue, one row per product. Two controls narrow it down.

The category filter limits the list to a single Shopify category, so you can work through your catalogue a section at a time. This is the practical way to use the page. Product copy tends to have the same weaknesses across a category, because it was usually written in one sitting by the same person, so fixing a category as a batch is far quicker than hunting product by product.

The search box matches on the product, and it is the fastest route when you already know the item you want. Use the filter when you are working through a body of products, and search when you are going straight to one.

Opening a product

Select a product and you land on its detail view. This is where the actual work happens. Everything on it refers to the Shopify product you just opened, and nothing else.

The Product content card

The Product content card holds the fields the AI tools read and rewrite:

  • Title
  • Vendor
  • Description
  • Product type
  • Tags

These are your Shopify fields. They are the same values you would see if you opened the product in your Shopify admin, and saving here changes them there. There is no separate copy of your content held inside the app, and no per-market variant of it.

Running AI on a product

The four AI operations run from this card:

  • Translate rewrites the content into the language you pick in the Target language selector.
  • Spell-check proofreads the copy without changing what it says.
  • SEO & Rufus rewrites it for search visibility. This needs the Amazon SEO & Rufus add-on, or AI Pro.
  • Recommendations returns advisory notes on how the content could be better. This needs the AI recommendations add-on, or AI Pro.

Each one returns a preview rather than an edit. You see the proposed content next to what you have now, and you decide. If you dislike the result you can walk away and your product is untouched, because nothing has been written yet.

Full detail on each operation: AI tools.

Tip

Run Spell-check before SEO & Rufus rather than after. SEO rewrites the copy wholesale, so a spell-check run first is wasted effort, and a spell-check run afterwards catches anything the rewrite introduced.

Save to Shopify

Save to Shopify is the only thing on this page that changes anything. Until you click it, an AI result is a suggestion sitting on your screen.

When you click it, the previewed content is written to your Shopify product: the title, vendor, description, product type and tags, as shown. That is the end of the flow. There is no second step, no push, and no approval queue.

Warning

Saving overwrites your existing Shopify product content. Read the preview properly before you save, particularly on Translate, where you may not be able to check the output in the target language yourself. If you save something you did not want, you will need to restore the text by hand.

What this page does not do

Two things people reasonably expect and do not get, stated plainly so you do not go looking for them.

It does not send anything to Amazon. Improving your Shopify copy improves your Shopify storefront. It has no effect on any Amazon listing you hold, because the app does not write listing content to Amazon.

It does not touch your prices or your stock. Those are separate features on separate screens. Amazon prices are read into Shopify by price sync, and stock is handled on Inventory Sync.

Before you can run AI

You need AI available on your plan. Every paid plan includes a monthly allowance of AI actions, and the Free plan has none, so on Free you need to supply your own API key. Running out of allowance returns a "cap reached" message.

There is also a throttle of one AI action at a time. Click too quickly and you will see "Please wait a moment before running another AI action." See The AI allowance and your own key.
